Ireland End to End: Day 2 adventures

From a gentle beginning to a challenging climb, join us as we recount the stunning vistas and memorable moments of Day 2 through the heart of the Emerald Isle.

Into the heart of Kerry

After a gentle start, Day 2 brought us face-to-face with one of the most challenging, yet rewarding, sections of our journey. We cycled deep into picturesque County Kerry, a landscape renowned for its breathtaking beauty and dramatic terrain. The air was crisp, and the scenery already hinted at the epic day ahead.

Conquering the Gap of Dunloe

The highlight, and indeed the test of our endurance, was making our way over the Gap of Dunloe in the Macgillycuddy Reeks mountain range. The elevations reached a stunning 1400m, offering unparalleled views at every turn. It was a true testament to the raw, untamed beauty of Ireland.

Reaching Tralee and the Emerald Isle

We concluded our challenging 59-mile leg in the bustling town of Tralee, a welcome sight after the day's climbs. The journey truly lived up to Ireland's renown as the Emerald Isle, especially with the pleasant summer sun blessing our ride. Every pedal stroke was a reminder of the country's vibrant green landscapes and the warmth of its people.
